GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A Michigan woman described finding out she had won a $1 million lottery prize in the middle of the night and waking up her whole family.
Lisa Cecil, 66, of Grand Rapids, bought a Powerball ticket at the Family Fare on Northland Drive Northeast in Grand Rapids.

She matched the five white balls from the June 12 drawing: 19-30-31-61-62.
“I play Powerball regularly, and I always check my numbers online after the drawing,” Cecil said. “It was after midnight when I checked this ticket, and I saw I had three numbers, then four, and I thought to myself, ‘I think I just won some money.’ When I checked off the fifth number, I was in disbelief.
“I woke everyone in our house up, saying, ‘I think I just won $1 million.’ Once my family looked the ticket over and confirmed what I was seeing, I knew it was real.”
Cecil visited Michigan Lottery headquarters to claim her prize. She said she plans to pay off her home and share money with family.
“I have been playing the lottery for a long time, and I never dreamed I would win a prize like this,” Cecil said. “It’s unbelievable.”
