Police: 5 teenage boys injured in Pontiac party shooting

Shooter shot into large crowd injuring teens

PONTIAC, Mich. – Officials say five teenagers were shot during a large party in Pontiac.

The shooting occurred on Friday (July 5) at 12:15 a.m. in the 300 block of South Jessie Street when a fight had broken out, causing someone to fire shots into a crowd.

Deputies, Star EMS, and the Waterford Regional Fire Department located the five teens who had been shot in their extremities.

Officials said deputies applied a tourniquet on one of the victims and transported him to a Pontiac hospital for treatment.

Pontiac police said there was also a 34-year-old man who was arrested on an outstanding warrant not related to the shooting.

Officials said deputies located multiple shell casings while Star EMS and the WRFD rendered aid.

The victims consisted of three 14-year-old Pontiac boys, a 15-year-old boy from Pontiac, and a 15-year-old boy from Auburn Hills.

Officials said the injuries of the five teens are not believed to be life-threatening.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak-Up.

Officials say Crime Stoppers are offering $1,000 for tips leading to an arrest.
