A missing, overturned sailboat was located in Lake Michigan, but the man and two children who had been on board were nowhere to be found.

A 32-year-old father and his two young children left from Green Island in Green Bay, Wisconsin, around 4 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024. They were heading to Oconto, Wisconsin.

When they didn’t arrive, an overdue report was filed at 4:27 p.m. Sunday. The caller told officials that the man’s truck and trailer were still at the boat ramp, and calls to his phone went straight to voicemail.

The United States Coast Guard and other agencies began searching Lake Michigan. The 18-foot sailboat was found at 6:22 a.m. Monday, but the three missing people weren’t with it.

Officials continue their search with boats and helicopters.
