What we know about 2 attacks targeting women who were alone in Monroe County

Police unsure if same person is responsible for both attacks

MONROE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police in Monroe County are investigating two separate attacks targeting women who were alone.

The first attack happened early in the morning on Monday, July 15, 2024, in the area of Waterloo Park in Monroe Township.

The second attack happened late at night Wednesday in a wooded area along French Creek Drive in the Meadowbrook Mobile Home Community, which is also in Monroe Township.

Both times, a man attacked women who were on their own. Police are trying to determine if the same person is responsible.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, with the help of the Monroe Public Safety Department and Michigan State Police. Anyone with information is asked to call 734-240-7530.
