ROYAL OAK, Mich. – If you’re looking for a great slice of pizza, there’s one place in Michigan that apparently ranks above the rest.
The highly anticipated 50 Top Pizza list was released for the U.S. this week, one of the most respected pizza rankings out there.

For some reason, the top 50 pizza restaurants in the U.S. did not include any in Michigan -- let alone Detroit. That seems insane to me. The No. 1 ranked spot was Una Pizza Napoletana in New York.
But one Michigan spot made the list for top 50 slices in the U.S., and it’s probably not the place you expected.
Coming in at No. 6 for best pizza slice, Palazzo Di Pizza in Royal Oak. This is a popular spot just outside of downtown Royal Oak serving up Detroit-style pizza.
They posted about the ranking on Facebook: “We’d like to take a moment and thank every single one of you that has ever been by to support us on our journey. Without the community of Royal Oak, we are not the pizzeria we are today. We’ve had some amazing accomplishments over the last 6 months and we are so grateful to be in a position to do what we love day in and day out.”
