DETROIT – Police are searching for a vehicle that four men were in when they shot and killed a man and abducted a 1-year-old child in Detroit.

Detroit police said the abduction and shooting happened at 10:09 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2024, in the area of Compass Avenue and Littlefield Street on Detroit’s west side.

A man, woman, and 1-year-old child were in a vehicle in the area when four men pulled up in a newer model gray Dodge Durango with Michigan License plate No. EAD 187. The suspects opened fire, shooting and killing the man.

Police said the men then took the child and fled the scene. The child has since been found and is safe. Police are still searching for the vehicle.
