“I am happy that I caught him, and my officer can now rest in peace, and his family can be at peace knowing that the person that killed their family member has been caught.
I’m overjoyed. I haven’t slept since yesterday as I was working with all of the agencies, including ATF, Michigan State Police, Wayne County, Dearborn, Brownstown, Riverview, Southgate, and Taylor, as they all came together as one, and nobody has slept yet. They worked tirelessly on this, and they brought him into custody.”

Said was shot and killed in the line of duty on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. ATF Detroit released information about Lopez on social media, saying he was armed and dangerous. Lopez, 44, was described as 6′1″, weighing about 250 pounds.
“I’m just so thankful that he’s in custody, not only for my officer but also for the family, as it’s been really hard on them. I went to his (Said) home last night and spoke with his parents and offered my condolences, and just held his mom in my arms. No parent should have to bury their child, let alone an officer, so I’m just super thankful that he has been apprehended and that they’re now at peace.”
