These Michigan hospitals were ranked among the best in the state, and in the U.S.
US News released its annual list of the best hospitals in the U.S. this week, for 2024-2025, and while no Michigan hospitals made the “honor roll” list for the best of the best, plenty ranked high in special categories. There’s also a Michigan rankings, which we’ll dive into.

How did they come up with these rankings? “U.S. News rates hospitals in 20 benchmark procedures and conditions, such as knee replacement, heart bypass surgery and – new this year – gynecological cancer surgery. U.S. News also ranks hospitals in 15 areas of complex specialty care. These ratings and rankings are based on each hospital’s patient outcomes – that is, how well patients have fared after treatment – as well as other factors that matter to patients, like the quality of their experience and whether the hospital is adequately staffed.” (You can read more about methodology here)

- Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak
- University of Michigan Health in Ann Arbor
Both of these rank in the top 10 across several categories and specialties.
- Corewell Health Grand Rapids Hospitals - Blodgett and Butterworth in Grand Rapids
- Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit
- Corewell Health Beaumont Hospital in Troy
- Munson Medical Center in Traverse City
- Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital
- Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital
- Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital
