Final preparations get underway ahead of Friday’s opening ceremonies

DETROIT – As night falls in Paris, the city is buzzing as final preparations get underway ahead of Friday’s opening ceremonies.

Over a billion people worldwide are expected to tune in, so we are committed to ensuring you can see every moment of the games on Local 4.

That means some of your favorite newscasts, like Local 4 News at 5 p.m., will air in a different location over the next few weeks.

As usual, our morning show team will be live and ready to go every day.

Get Up & Go: Start your mornings weekdays from 4:30-8 a.m. with Local 4's Morning News Team.

So, have your morning coffee with Rhonda Walker, Jason Colthorp, Ashlee Baracy, Kim DeGiulio, and Darnell Blackburn starting at 4:30 a.m.

If you want to catch the news, it will stream daily on Local 4+, followed by the Daily+ with Christy McDonald.

Our 4 p.m. newscasts are on hiatus while we watch Team USA go for gold as athletes compete in 32 different sports.

If you want to catch Local 4 News at 5 p.m. with Kimberly Gill, head to the Local 4 app or visit our site to catch our live stream of the news while coverage of the games continues on TV.

Then join our newscast on TV for the news at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.

We know you also love to check in with Priya Mann and Bryan Schuerman on weekend mornings.

Those newscasts will continue every Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. If you don’t see us on air, we will stream live on Local 4+.

Of course, Will Jones and Pamela Osbourne will be rounding out your weekend nights like normal, bringing you the news on TV and streaming at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.
