Farmington Hills driver faces charges in crash that killed motorcyclist

OXFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 54-year-old man from Farmington Hills has been charged in a May crash that killed a motorcyclist from Orion Township.

Adnan Ali Eltobji was charged Friday, July 26, with a moving violation causing death and released on a $5,000 personal bond.

The crash happened at about 4:45 p.m. on May 1 in Oxford Township. According to authorities, Eltobji was driving a Toyota on Oakwood Road and did not come to a complete stop at a flashing red signal before turning onto Lapeer Road, where he was in the path of a motorcycle. Police said the motorcycle crashed into the Toyota and its driver was ejected.

The driver, identified as Jimmie Allen Haggadone, was rushed to a hospital, where he died from his injuries. Eltobji was treated for minor injuries.

If convicted, Eltobji faces up to a year behind bars. He is expected to return to court Aug. 21.
