BRIGHTON, Mich. – Police have identified an armed, masked man who robbed a hotel in Brighton.
Police were called around 1:20 a.m. July 15, 2024, to the Hampton Inn & Suites in Brighton.
Officials said Joshua Lee Bargovan had entered the hotel, walked into the bathroom, and then left the hotel. He returned armed and wearing a mask, police said.
Bargovan went behind the front desk counter, where an employee was sitting. He opened the cash drawer, took money out, and left the hotel again, according to officials.
When police arrived, they checked on the worker and then began searching for Bargovan. He was not found.
The hotel employee was not injured, officials said.
Bargovan was later arrested and taken to the Livingston County Jail. Police revealed Thursday, July 25, that he has been arraigned on an armed robbery charge.
He’s being held on $200,000 bond, cash/surety.
A probable cause conference is scheduled for July 30.
