$500 reward offered for info in failed Detroit dealership burglary

Suspects were able to get inside despite failing to break glass door

Police are looking for suspects in a July 15, 2024 failed burglary of a Detroit dealership. (WDIV)

DETROIT – Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying five people involved in a breaking-and-entering on Detroit’s west side.

The incident happened at about 5:30 a.m. on July 15. According to authorities, five unknown people arrived at a dealership on Grand River Avenue, near Seven Mile Road, in a blue SUV. Police said one person dressed in all black exited the vehicle and threw a rock at the glass door. Surveillance video captured the suspect approaching the broken door and attempting to kick it in but was not able to gain entry.

Police said the suspects then used the SUV to ram into a garage door and attempted to steal multiple vehicles. They fled without stealing any.
