ARISE Detroit hosts 18th annual neighborhoods day

Community members made a difference on Saturday

DETROIT – From the Belle Isle Art Fair to health clinics and jazz performances ARISE Detroit crisscrossed the city on Saturday.

Over the past 18 years, the nonprofit has held 3,000 events promoting health, wellness, and the beautification of Detroit.

All day on Saturday, ARISE Detroit was making a difference one block at a time. Detroit residents, volunteers, and those who work and study int he city joined forces for ARISE Detroit’s neighborhood day.

The women’s soccer team at the University of Detroit Mercy spent their morning beautifying the neighborhoods around campus. There were health fairs, school supply giveaways, and more. There were 130 events scheduled throughout the day.
