Canadian man arrested attempting to smuggle 250 pounds of cocaine into Michigan

Bond set at $3,000,000

PORT HURON, Mich. – A 42-year-old man from Canada has been taken into custody after reportedly attempting to smuggle 266 pounds of cocaine into Michigan.

According to authorities, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Homeland Security Investigations agents discovered the cocaine at the Blue Water Bridge. The suspect, Juli Sabosan Sathiaseelan, the semi truck and evidence was turned over to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office.

Sathiaseelan has been lodged at the St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center. His bond was set at $3,000,000.
