MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – A 34-year-old man from Clinton Township is facing multiple felonies after reportedly imprisoning a woman inside his apartment and torturing her for six months over a drug debt.
According to authorities, Darren John Dawson held a woman against her will in his apartment closet from November 2023 to April 2024. He reportedly tortured the 58-year-old woman and stole her Social Security money and food stamps.

Dawson was charged with torture, unlawful imprisonment and larceny by conversion of $1,000 or more but less than $20,000. All three charges are felonies. His bond was set at $1 million.
He is expected to return to court for a probable cause hearing Aug. 20.
