Detroit Board of Police Commissioners honor Local 4 legend Paula Tutman for Malice Green documentary

Paula Tutman worked 32 years at Local 4

DETROIT – The Detroit Board of Police Commissioners honored Local 4 legend and recent retiree Paula Tutman for her work on the documentary Malice Green, Portrait of Injustice.

The documentary was one of her final projects before she retired on July 1, ending her 32-year career with WDIV.

In Thursday’s (Aug. 8) police commissioners meeting, we heard how the documentary has positively impacted the department and Detroit police Chief James white himself.

“The chief and I had lots of conversations, lots of long conversations, and so I do know how this impacted him and how he wants it to impact his department and what, what more can we hope for as journalists than to actually be able to see that we’ve made a difference,” Tutman said. “I’m honored to be honored.”
