Police chase with truck stolen out of Ohio ends with arrest in Michigan

LaSALLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 41-year-old man from Toledo was arrested Friday, Aug. 9, in Michigan after a police chase that began in Ohio ended in Monroe County

According to authorities, Ohio State Highway Patrol were pursuing a Ram truck that was stolen out of Perrysburg, Ohio on I-75 when the suspect entered Michigan just after midnight. Ohio police called off the chase and it was picked up by deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said stop sticks were deployed on I-75, near Dixie Highway, that caused the front driver-side tire to deflate. The suspect reportedly pulled off at Nadeau Road, just north of Monroe, and stopped at the Pilot Travel Center, where he was taken into custody.

The suspect was lodged at the Monroe County Jail on charges of fleeing and eluding, possession of stolen property and narcotics violations.
