Detroit police investigating after pedestrian killed when vehicle crashes into parked cars

DETROIT – Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed in Detroit.

The hit-and-run crash happened around 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2024, in the 300 block of Van Dyke Avenue in Detroit. Police said a vehicle struck two parked cars and one of those parked cars hit and killed a man.

Two men in the vehicle that struck the parked cars ran from the scene. One passenger was taken into custody.

Detroit police said the investigation is ongoing.
