Human remains found inside vehicle after garage explosion in Monroe County

Human remains were transported to the Lucas County Croner’s Officer for an autopsy

Police say they have found human remains inside of a parked vehicle in a garage in Monroe County. (WDIV)

MONROE COUNTY, Mich. – Police say they have found human remains inside of a parked vehicle in a garage in Monroe County.

The incident occurred at 9:15 a.m. on Monday (Aug. 12) in the 7900 block of Case Drive in Bedford Township.

Officials said they received calls on reports of a structure that had blown up in the area of Case Drive and Linwood Drive in Lambertville.

When they arrived, police said they located a detached garage on fire with damage consistent with an explosion.

After extinguishing the fire, a search of the garage was concluded, which resulted in the human remains being found inside the vehicle that was parked in the garage.

The human remains were transported to the Lucas County Croner’s Officer for an autopsy.
