Why I’m looking into a ‘health hack’ weight loss drink that’s popular online

Special report coming up on Local 4 News at 5 on Monday, Aug. 19

There are a seemingly endless number of “health hacks” on platforms like TikTok, and I will admit up front I’m skeptical of most of them.

Ricezempic was brought to my attention by one of our producers. It’s basically a weight loss drink that some people are turning to. It doesn’t do anything similar to actual GLP-1 agonists like Ozempic or Wegovy.

I watched dozens of videos to try to figure out if there was anything to this. My conclusion: Well, you’re just going to have to watch my special report on Local 4 News at 5 p.m. Monday, which explains the potential benefits or harms to the drink.

By the way, if there is an especially popular social media health trend you think I should check out, send me an email and I’ll add it to the list of other social media trends I plan to look into.
