86-year-old pedestrian killed in Ann Arbor crash

Alcohol not believed to be a factor

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – A crash in Ann Arbor resulted in the death of an 86-year-old woman early Saturday, Aug. 17.

According to authorities, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle just after midnight near the intersection of Barber and Ravenwood avenues. Lifesaving efforts were started by police and continued by fire and EMS crews before she was transported to Michigan Medicine.

Police said she died from her injuries shortly after.

The driver of the vehicle, a 22-year-old woman from Ann Arbor, remained on scene and has been cooperating with the investigation. Police said alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
