WARREN, Mich. – Police in Warren arrested four teens and an adult who reportedly attempted to steal new cars from a business Monday, Aug. 19.
According to authorities, police were alerted at about 6:30 a.m. to a group of individuals in the Ground Effects Automotive lot, where several new Stellantis vehicles were parked. When officers arrived on scene, they said they found two new Dodge Durangos ramming the security gate to get out. Both Durangos were disabled in the crashes.

Police said several people ran on foot, but officers were able to take five of the six suspects into custody.
Police believe the suspects were attempting to steal six Durangos and they were attempting to break the security gate so they could leave the parking lot in the stolen Durangos.
The value of the attempted theft and damaged property is estimated to be $500,000.
Police said two 16-year-olds, two 17-year-olds and a 24-year-old were taken into custody.
