Famous Metro Detroit restaurateur, Joe Muer, dies at 88

CHELSEA, Mich. – The iconic Metro Detroit restauranteur, Joseph W. Muer Jr., passed away on Sunday, Aug. 11 at 88 years old. According to his obituary, he died peacefully in his sleep.

He was the previous owner of Joe Muer’s Seafood Restaurant, which was recognized across North America. The restaurant was written up in Japan Air Lines, the Wall Street Journal, Ford Times, AAA Tour Guide, Fortune Magazine and listed in Vincent Price’s Gourmet Dining Association.
