DETROIT – A young boy was struck by a gunshot during a drive-by shooting Monday in Detroit.

The shooting happened around 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2024, in the 16500 block of Fairmount Drive, which is near the intersection of 8 Mile and Kelly roads on Detroit’s east side.

Officials said a child under 10 years old was shot in the head. A source told Local 4 the injury is not believed to be fatal.

It’s unclear if police have any suspects.

No additional information has been revealed.
