MIDLAND, Mich. – A man charged in the death of well-known Friends actor Matthew Perry was from Michigan.

Kenneth Iwamasa, 59, was Perry’s live-in personal assistant. He admitted to giving Perry the dose of ketamine that killed him and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine causing death.

WILX reports Iwamasa went to high school in Midland, Michigan, and college at Lansing Community College.

Iwamasa is one of five people who are charged in Perry’s death.

Prosecutors said the group took advantage of Perry’s drug abuse problems. They were motivated by greed, officials said.

“They knew what they were doing was wrong,” U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada said. “They knew what they were doing was risking great danger to Mr. Perry. But they did it anyway.”

Perry’s body was found in his pool last year, and an autopsy revealed that he had died from a ketamine overdose.

One doctor even texted, “I wonder how much this moron will pay” and, “Let’s find out,” according to an indictment.
