Motor City Cruise announces Metro Detroit player tryouts ahead of training camp

Tryouts will be held on Sept. 14, at the Henry Ford Detroit Pistons Performance Center

DETROIT – The Motor City Cruise, a G League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, will host a one-day, two-session open player tryout for Metro Detroit hoopers.

The tryouts will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Henry Ford Detroit Pistons Performance Center in the 6201 block of Second Avenue.

Hoopers who register will have the opportunity to compete for an invitation to Cruise training camp beginning in October.

Players trying out can showcase their talents through NBA-level drills and scrimmages in front of Detroit Pistons and Motor City Cruise Basketball Operations staff.

For players interested, they can register by clicking here and paying the $250 non-refundable tryout fee.

Tryout spaces are limited, and the registration deadline is Friday, Sept. 13, at 5 p.m.

The Cruise is entering its fourth season of professional basketball in the heart of Detroit’s Midtown.

The team will begin its 24 home games in November at the Wayne State Fieldhouse, which is located on the campus of Wayne State University.
