Police seek woman hit by a truck in Macomb County

Police are looking for a woman who they believe was hit by a truck on Aug. 16, 2024 in Macomb County. (WDIV)

CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police in Macomb County are looking for a woman who was hit by a truck Aug. 16.

The crash happened at about 4 a.m., Aug. 16, near the intersection of 26 Mile and County Line roads. According to authorities, an eastbound truck hit a woman who was walking in the road with his passenger-side mirror.

The driver reportedly stopped to check on the woman, but she was gone.

The Chesterfield Township Police Department released photos Monday, Aug. 19, of the woman who they believe was struck. She reportedly entered Ascension St. John Hospital and left roughly 15 minutes before the crash. She did not give her name, nor did she receive any medical care.

Police said the woman matched the description they were given by the driver.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who recognizes the woman or has any information is asked to contact the Chesterfield Township Police Department at 586-949-3657.
