Officials charge 4 of 6 teens in Warren attempted car theft case

WARREN, Mich. – Officials say four teens have been charged and prosecuted in connection with attempting to steal Dodge Durangos at Ground Effects in Warren.

Two 16-year-old boys and two 17-year-old boys have been charged with conspiracy to commit theft of $20,000 or more, a 10-year felony, conspiracy to commit motor vehicle, unlawful driving away, a five-year felony, attempted unlawful driving away of a motor vehicle, a two and a half year felony, and resisting/obstructing, a two-year felony.

The four teens were charged on Tuesday (Aug. 20) in Macomb County Juvenile Court.

Bond was set for the 16-year-old boys at $3,000 cash/surety only and $500 cash/surety only.

Bond was set at $10,000 cash/surety only and $500 cash/surety only for the 17-year-old boys, and all boys were ordered to house restrictions and no contact with any crime victims or co-respondents.
