Pedestrian in crosswalk struck by car, critically injured in Macomb County

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A crash in Clinton Township critically injured a 42-year-old woman early Wednesday, Aug. 21.

The crash happened at about 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of Metro Parkway and Gratiot Avenue. According to authorities, the woman was walking across Metro Parkway when an eastbound Kia Sportage struck her.

Police said she was in the crosswalk at the time.

The woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the Kia has been cooperating with authorities and police do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
