MONROE, Mich. – Police are offering a $1,000 reward for information regarding an arson fire at the Michigan College of Beauty.

It happened July 30, at about 1:30 p.m. Authorities said they received several 911 calls reporting smoke coming from a vacant building next to the Michigan College of Beauty. Responding crews found heavy black smoke coming from the building.
South Monroe Street was closed between Jones Avenue and Dunbar Road for several hours.
Investigators determined the cause of the fire to be arson.
A $1,000 reward has been offered for information that leads to the arrest of the arsonist. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
