That time hundreds of gerbils and hamsters took over a Michigan airport

What’s the weirdest thing that delayed you or put you behind on something?

A friend of mine once had a hot air balloon land on the road in front of him. I got hit by a truck tire on 696 (it wasn’t great). A few years ago, my dad and I were heading up to the U.P. for his birthday and someone called in a bomb threat that closed the Mackinac Bridge for several hours (also wasn’t great).

Three years ago today, a truck hauling bee hives crashed and overturned outside Charlevoix. Authorities said it released a large swarm and urged residents to avoid the area.

It’s not the only time some animals disrupted Michigan travel. Our story begins years ago, in a long-forgotten time: 1991.

Have you seen social media posts encouraging you to freeze your credit after a data breach? Here’s what you need to know.

A proposed class action lawsuit alleges that the personal information of 2.9 billion people was exposed, according to reports. The lawsuit says the data includes full names, current and past addresses, Social Security numbers, and information on parents, siblings, and other relatives.

If the lawsuit is accurate, it’s possible that all Americans had their personal information compromised in the breach. Though, according to CNBC, the breach may not be as far-reaching as some believe.

14-year-old girl, teen boy accused of plotting to kill girl’s mom before Eastpointe attack

Two teens are facing conspiracy to commit murder charges after prosecutors say they plotted to kill the girl’s mother.

According to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, a 17-year-old boy entered the 14-year-old girl’s mother’s Eastpointe home and strangled her. He ran away after being confronted. The mother survived the attack and is expected to recover.

Michigan trooper to stand trial for murder after striking, killing man with SUV

A now-retired Michigan State Police trooper who drove his unmarked SUV into a 25-year-old man who was fleeing from police has been ordered to stand trial for second-degree murder.

A district judge in the Grand Rapids suburb of Kentwood said via a Zoom hearing Thursday that she was sending former Detective Sergeant Brian Keely’s case to a circuit court.
