The story behind the ‘injustice anywhere’ billboards in Metro Detroit

Oakland County judge responds to billboards criticizing her

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – Local 4 spoke to the man who put up the “injustice anywhere” billboards and the Oakland County judge the billboards are criticizing. Here’s what we learned.

A very public campaign is being waged against longtime Oakland County judge Martha Anderson. The billboards are owned by Randy Oram.

The billboards read “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere” and directs people to michiganinjustice.com, which criticizes judge Anderson.

Oram said that he put up the billboards because years ago he won a lawsuit against a huge billboard company. The legal team for the billboard company found a new witness.

Anderson, the judge in the case, said she found the witness to be credible. The billboard company got a new trial, and this time, they won.

Oram alleges that judge Anderson had a potential conflict with one of the law firms involved. This raised a question about her husband having any ties with the facilitations or mediations with the law firm that won the re-trial.

Anderson said she stands by her ruling, that she is not aware of any conflict, and that she has nothing to hide.

The case is heading to the Michigan Supreme Court.
