Manhunt seeks St. Clair County man accused of stabbing his family

FORT GRATIOT TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man accused of stabbing his family Thursday, Aug. 29.

The incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. at a Fort Gratiot Township home on Parker Road, near Krafft Road. According to authorities, a 56-year-old man was stabbed multiple times and a 55-year-old woman had cuts on her hands. Multiple police agencies, Fort Gratiot Fire Department and medical crews responded to the scene, but the suspect could not be located.

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as 33-year-old Brent Durrant. He is described as standing 6 feet tall and weighing about 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt and brown pants.

Authorities said Durrant has a mental disability and is potentially still armed with a knife. Anyone who sees Durrant is urged to not approach him but to call 911.
