LANSING, Mich. – A 54-year-old man from Branch County will stand trial after being extradited from Florida.
Alex New was bound over Thursday, Aug. 29, on two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. He was charged in 2016 but reportedly left the state and eluded authorities before he was found in Florida.

He was extradited in June. New is expected to return to court Sept. 23.
If convicted, he faces possible life in prison.
