Metting is set for 6 p.m.

WAYNE COUNTY,Mich. – Local 4 has learned that local leaders are meeting on Wednesday to discuss the disposal of radioactive waste at the Wayne Disposal Facility in Van Buren Township.

This story garnered a lot of reaction from our viewers, and we’ve received many calls from concerned community members over the past few weeks.

The waste is coming load by load in about 25 semi-trucks per week.

Congresswoman Debbie Dingell and Wayne County Executive Warren Evans will discuss the plan with EGLE and the EPA representatives.

Leaders are expected to raise concerns about transporting and storing dangerous waste.

The meeting is set for 6 p.m., and we hope to bring you updates.
