FORT GRATIOT TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 33-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a two-day manhunt in St. Clair County.

Brent Durrant is accused of stabbing members of his family Aug. 29 at a Fort Gratiot Township home on Parker Road, near Krafft Road. According to authorities, a 56-year-old man was stabbed multiple times and a 55-year-old woman had cuts on her hands. Multiple police agencies, Fort Gratiot Fire Department and medical crews responded to the scene, but Durrant had already fled the area.
The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Wednesday, Sept. 4, that Durrant was located and taken into custody on Aug. 31. Officials with the U.S. Coast Guard, Michigan State Police, Fort Gratiot Fire Department and others assisted.
Durrant was charged Tuesday, Sept. 3, with assault with intent to murder. His bond was set at $250,000.
