Police seek help identifying masked gunman involved in Dearborn Heights bank robbery

No shots were fired during incident

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. – The Dearborn Heights Police Department is seeking the community’s help in searching for a gunman who robbed a Flagstar Bank.

The robbery occurred on Wednesday (Sept. 4) at 1 p.m. when the masked assailant walked into the bank in the 26545 block of Ford Road in Dearborn Heights demanding money while brandishing a weapon.

Officials say after obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the assailant left the building, entered a maroon-colored Ford, and proceeded eastbound on Ford Road.

The gunman is described as an African American man, approximately 6′0″ to 6′3″ and weighing 160 to 170 pounds.

At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a tan-colored hooded sweatshirt bearing the graphic of a dancing skeleton, dark-colored (blue) pants, and dark-colored Addidas-style shoes.

Officials say no shots were fired during the incident, and no customers or bank employees sustained any injuries.
