Man suffered non-life-threatening serious injuries

An 81-year-old woman crashed her vehicle through a resident’s garage and ended up in another person’s backyard, where she struck a man in Canton. (WDIV)

CANTON, Mich. – An 81-year-old woman crashed her vehicle through a resident’s garage and ended up in another person’s backyard, where she struck a man in Canton.

The incident occurred on Monday (Sept. 9) at 2:38 p.m. in the area of Saltz Road and Redfern Street.

Officials say the woman was traveling west on Saltz Road, approaching Redforn Street, when her 2014 red GMC Acadia left the roadway to the south.

She struck the garage while traveling into the backyard, where she struck the man.

Police say the man suffered non-life-threatening serious injuries, but everybody involved was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The Canton Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team was called to investigate the crash, which is still under investigation.
