Detroit man accused of attacking 3-month-old daughter, causing head, neck, spine injuries

DETROIT – A Detroit man is accused of attacking his 3-month-old daughter, causing injuries to her head, neck, and spine.

The attack happened at 2:03 p.m. Sept. 3, 2024, at a home in the 20400 block of Helen Street in Detroit, officials said.

Rmahn Denus-Elyjah Ja Bosnak, 23, of Detroit, is accused of assaulting the baby girl, causing injuries to her head, neck, and spine. Prosecutors said they plan to provide more specific details at the preliminary examination.

He is charged with first-degree child abuse and second-degree child abuse.

He was arraigned Sunday, Sept. 8, at 36th District Court and given a $100,000 bond, cash/surety. He must wear a GPS tether and remain on house arrest, if released.

A probable cause conference is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Sept. 17, and a preliminary examination is scheduled for 8:45 a.m. Sept. 24.
