Lead singer and founder of ‘Maze’ Frankie Beverly, has died at the age of 77.

Beverly’s family posted a statement on the band’s social media accounts saying that grieving the loss of a loved one is a deeply personal and emotional experience.

He also was the opening act for Detroit native Marvin Gaye when he was on tour.
