Ypsilanti Township crash closes both sides of US-12 in Washtenaw County

Two people were killed in the crash

WASHTENAW COUNTY, Mich. – A Ypsilanti Township crash has closed both sides of US-12 in Washtenaw County.

The crash occurred on Wednesday (Sept. 11) between Wiard Road and Ecorse Road in Ypsilanti Township during the evening rush hour.

Officials say the two-car crash was a head-on collision. One of the vehicles crossed the center line, killing both drivers.

One of the drivers is a 23-year-old woman from Wayne. The second driver is a man whose identity has yet to be determined.

Police say there was a passenger in one of the vehicles who was transported to a Metro Detroit hospital and has been listed in critical condition.
