CAMPUS MARTIUS – The fall equinox is just days away and that means all summer things must come to an end.
On Thursday, Sept. 12, the Downtown Detroit Partnership rolled out the red beach blanket to close out the summer. It held its final beach party of the season at Campus Martius Park for a girl’s night out.
In case you missed it, the energy was electric.
DJ Skeez was out spinning live on the MGM Grand Detroit stage. Guests had the chance to get a free make-and-take makeup bag, shop unique finds at pop-ups from HCubed Candles and Halie and Co. There were also chances to win fabulous prizes in exclusive raffles.
Guests showed up in style wearing their best beachwear or night out look.
The pop-up beach in the center of Downtown Detroit has 400,000 pounds of sand and lounge chairs, offering a relaxing atmosphere for beachgoers to have fun.
The beach party series offers free entertainment from top local and regional bands and DJs monthly throughout the summer at Campus Martius Park.
If you couldn’t make it to the party, you can visit the beach until preparations begin for the 2024 holiday season.
As far as plans go for next summer, those announcements will be made in late spring of 2025.
