Beauty and Sleep: Are they really related?

A good night’s sleep may work as a beauty booster

We’ve all heard someone say, “I need to get my beauty sleep.” This might sound like an old cliché saying but there may be some truth behind it.

Let’s take our skin for instance. We live in a world full of skincare regimes to keep our beauty intact. While things like vitamin c and tretinoin work wonders for our skin, a good night of rest can be just as useful.

Sleep can provide us with a beauty boost by helping to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, puffy eyes, and acne breakouts.

We know beauty isn’t just skin-deep. How we feel on the inside shows up on the outside. You may find that a good night of rest works as a mood booster. Wake up and notice yourself feeling and looking healthy and happy.

So, how much rest do we need to get to achieve the goal of beauty sleep? According to the National Sleep Foundation adults 18 years and older need 7 or more hours of sleep every night.

Daily responsibilities can be time consuming and stressful. Try your best to adopt a bedtime routine to help you relax, unwind, and drift off to sleep. Your mind and body will love it.
