DETROIT – The Motown Museum gave an update and released new renderings of its highly-anticipated expansion project.
The project -- initially announced in 2016 -- has entered the final stretch of construction. Museum officials released renderings of the new lobby and cafe.

The expanded facility is expected to open in summer 2026. It includes immersive exhibits, a theater and more than 40,000 square feet behind Hitsville U.S.A.
The expansion, which aims to be a major cultural and tourist destination, has raised $70 million of its $75 million goal.
