According to NBC News, music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been arrested amid a surge of lawsuits alleging sexual assault.
The arrest occurred on Monday (Sept. 16) in a New York City hotel lobby.
Combs’ lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, said in a statement to NBC News, “We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. He is an imperfect person but is not a criminal. To his credit, Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation, and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
There is no word as to why he was arrested but the 54-year-old has been under investigation since March 2024 when federal agents executed search warrants at his homes in Los Angeles and Miami.
Former girlfriend Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit in 2023 accusing him of sex trafficking and years of abuse, which opened the floodgates to more people coming out with their stories and how they were affected in some way by Combs.
An investigation was said to have interviewed several people concerning sex trafficking, sexual assault, and the solicitation and distribution of illegal narcotics and guns.
This is a breaking news story, and updates will be posted as they become available.
