PONTIAC, Mich. – A 50-year-old man from Pontiac is facing 11 felonies in connection with the death of a father and sexual assault of his wife and daughter.
The incident happened Wednesday, Sept. 18, at a home on Ypsilanti Avenue in Pontiac.
According to authorities, Timothy Ernest Legard went to his neighbor’s home, stabbed the father to death in the driveway, entered the home as the man’s wife and daughter were getting ready for school, and sexually assaulted them both.
The two were able to escape the home and called 911 from a neighbor’s house. Police found the father’s body in the driveway, and Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies took the suspect into custody.
Legard was charged Friday, Sept. 20, with first-degree murder, second-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of kidnapping, three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of assault with intent to commit penetration, and two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.
He remains lodged at the Oakland County Jail. If convicted of murder, criminal sexual conduct, or kidnapping, Legard faces the possibility of serving life in prison.
He is expected to be arraigned over the weekend.
