WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – Four people have been charged in connection to a murder after a woman was found dead in a Detroit alley and a car was burned and abandoned.
Prosecutors said that Dearborn police were called to the scene of an attempted auto theft with shots fired at 3:40 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024, in the 5400 block of Argyle Street in Dearborn.
Mohammed Haitham Ahmad and Ali Haitham Ahmad, both of Dearborn, opened fire at a vehicle driven by someone they believed was trying to steal a vehicle from their property, according to prosecutors.
The driver of the vehicle, Shahid Al-Aziz Muhammad, was shot and injured. A passenger, identified as Paige Marie Knox, was shot and killed. A third passenger, Ebony Aaron Pugh, was not injured.
Dearborn police said that after fleeing the scene of the shooting, Shahid Al-Aziz Muhammad, went to an alley in the 15000 block of Grand River in Detroit where he and Pugh disposed of Knox’s body.
The burned remnants of the vehicle were found in the 15000 block of Ellsworth in Detroit.
Mohammed Ahmad, Ali Ahmad, Shahid Muhammad, and Ebony Pugh, were arrested on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024.
Men charged by Wayne County prosecutor
The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office issued charges for each man.
Mohammed Ahmad is charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter, and felony firearm.
Ali Ahmad is charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter, and felony firearm.
Shahid Muhammad has been charged with attempted unlawful driving away an automobile, concealing a death, and third-degree arson.
Ebony Pugh is charged with attempted unlawful driving away an automobile, concealing a death, and third-degree arson.
All four men were arraigned in the 19th District Court in Wayne County on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024.
Shahid Muhammad and Ebony Pugh were given a bond of $250,000 cash. Mohammed Ahmad and Ali Ahmad were remanded without bond.
The men are expected back in court for a probable cause conference on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024.
