DETROIT – Rayshawn Bryant, 40, was shot and killed during a tailgate after the Detroit Lions game at Eastern Market.

Officials said Welch and the suspect, an Oak Park man, got into an argument when the 25-year-old flashed his pistol before he was shot in the head.
The bullet entered the front of his head and exited out of the back, hitting Bryant, who was trying to break up the situation in the head, killing him.
Amid the tragic shooting, friends and family of Bryant will hold a balloon release to honor his life.
The event is said to start Friday (Sept. 20) at 7 p.m. with prayer, and then the balloons will be released at 8 p.m.
Funeral arrangements for Bryant are set for next Friday at Haley Funeral Home.
Earlier the week, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office ruled the shooter would not face charges because he was acting in self-defense.
