LANSING, Mich. – An Oakland County man is $100,000 richer after unknowingly entering the Michigan Lottery’s $300,000,000 Extraordinaire tickets for a second chance.

The anonymous 63-year-old man won the $100,000 after being selected in a random drawing on Sept. 10. He earned entries into the giveaway by scanning non-winning $300,000,000 Extraordinaire tickets on the Michigan Lottery app.

“I scan my $300,000,000 Extraordinaire tickets to check if I won or not, but I had no idea I was entering a second chance drawing when scanning the non-winners,” said the Oakland County man. “I got a call from the Lottery telling me I’d won $100,000 in the second chance drawing, and I said, ‘You’re kidding me, right?’ It seemed too good to be true. Later that day, I found an email in my spam folder regarding the prize, and I knew it must be real.”

“This all still feels so unbelievable,” said the man. “I never imagined I’d be making this type of trip to Lansing!”

He plans to help others and save his winnings.
