Police search for driver involved in critical hit-and-run on Detroit’s west side

DETROIT – Police are searching for the driver involved in a critical hit-and-run on Detroit’s west side.

The incident occurred on Friday (Aug. 30) at 7:10 p.m. in the area of Central and MacKenzie streets when the unknown driver riding in an older model burgundy Chrysler 200 with limited trim level struck a 36-year-old man riding a bicycle.

Officials say the driver fled the scene. The victim is being treated at a Metro Detroit hospital for his injuries.
